Fault description and test results:
VDISK is allocated for use on the Solaris operating system on the SUN minicomputer. The file system format is UFS. Due to the space usage problem, the VDISK space is expanded. Recovery plan:
The faulty VDISK data has been mirrored to another VDISK and stored on the iQstor iQ2880 disk array. The iQstor iQ2880 array has four fiber ports that can be connected to the HBA (fiber card) card on the computer.
The data recovery operation process needs to map VDISK to the Windows platform machine. This requires a PC Server or PC with an HBA card installed, and then connect the iQstor iQ2880 array to the computer with a fiber optic cable. It can be recognized on the Windows machine. VDISK, then perform data analysis and recovery operations on the Windows platform.
The UFS file system failure analysis starts with the three information of SuperBlock, Inode, and Cylinder group descriptior, extracts the corresponding information, and extracts the data of the UFS file system partition through the program under the Windows platform.
The environment to be prepared on site:
1. A PC Server or PC with a fiber-optic card, equipped with a Windows 2003 system for connecting the iQstor iQ2880 via fiber optic cable.
2. Ensure that iQstor iQ2880 can map VDISK to PC Server or PC and recognize it as a separate physical hard disk on Windows2003.
