China's waste bottle recycling has achieved certain results

According to the situation provided by China Exporters Packaging Research Institute, about 50% of China's urban waste is packaged waste. In recent years, under the national standards promotion and industry efforts such as the General Principles of Packaging Waste Disposal and Utilization and the “Recycling Marks for Packaging” that have been issued and implemented, significant progress has been made in the recycling of packaging waste in China. At present, the utilization rate of paper containers in China is 85%, the utilization rate of aluminum cans is 80%, the utilization rate of tinplate is 75%, and the utilization rate of glass beer bottles is more than 90%. The utilization rate of plastic bottle containers is about 50%. In Beijing, 180,000 tons of plastic bottles are discarded each year. According to the calculation of 1 ton of plastics for 6 tons of oil, only Beijing's recycled plastic bottles each year can save 1.08 million tons of oil.
