China Association for the Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Commemorating Climbing Everest

The journal has recently learned from the China Mountaineering Association that in order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the summit of Mount Everest, the China Mountaineering Association plans to issue a set of souvenirs. In this regard, we interviewed Mr. Yu Liangjun, editor-in-chief of the Mountaineering Magazine of the China Mountaineering Association:

The reporter asked: Will the China Association consider how to consider customizing and issuing souvenirs to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Mount Everest?

Yu Liangfu: This year marks the 50th anniversary of the summit of Mount Everest. It is a major event for mountaineers all over the world. For this purpose, the China Association has organized a series of commemorative activities and has also been considering customizing souvenirs. After repeated studies, it is decided. Make and sell this souvenir,

The reporter asked: What is the significance of issuing this souvenir?

Yu Liangkai: First of all, it is a monumental significance. This is well-known. This is not only a major event for the mountaineering community, but also a major event for China's sports industry; not only China but also the world. The second is its social significance. The commemoration of the important historical events is to enable people to continue to carry forward the spirit of their predecessors and create a more brilliant future on the basis of remembrance of their predecessors. Therefore, the issuance of this set of souvenirs is based on the predecessors of dedication to climbing the third pole of the world and inherits their splendid achievements. It plays an important role in promoting the country’s mountaineering campaign and promoting the development of the national fitness campaign. Once again, it is its collection value. Important days are always indulging in people's memory. However, if you borrow specific items, you can consolidate this important day into objects and make people see and feel. It is common practice in all countries to order the issuance of specific souvenirs in commemorative years. Such souvenirs have become the focus of attention and collection of the society because of its connotation, quality and rated quantity, and it has a high collection value (ie stored value and appreciation). At the same time, it can also meet the needs of mountaineering enthusiasts.

The reporter asked: Yu teacher, this set of souvenirs includes those aspects?

Yu Liangsheng: This souvenir consists of three kinds of commodities. One is a statue of a figure. It is a portrait of a climber. It plans to select tin carving handicrafts and is a metal statue with high artistic value. The second is a Swiss army knife. In Switzerland, a commemorative edition with commemorative patterns and texts was ordered; the third was a US ZIPPO lighter, which was specifically produced in the United States. The motifs were also commissioned by artists to design the images and characters of the climbers.

The reporter asked: I heard that a total of 1,655 souvenirs were ordered. Why did you choose this number?

Yu Liangsheng: At the end of 2002, 1655 people climbed Everest all over the world. For this reason, we chose this figure to highlight its commemorative significance and raise the value of this collection. Therefore, we must adopt a limited and customized approach.

The reporter asked: Why did you consider choosing these three items as souvenirs?

Yu Liangrong: When we conceived this set of souvenirs, we first considered three principles. First, we must have high quality; second, items that should be handed down; and third, items that are widely accepted by mountaineering enthusiasts. In accordance with the above principles, we have selected the following three commodities:
The portrait of Yunnan Xi Diao: The statue has the most impressive power, intimacy and affinity, so the first statue is a statue. The tin sculpture in Gejiu, China (Situo, China) has a long history. Its dignified texture, noble temperament and beautiful craftsmanship make it a memorable souvenir.
Swiss Army Knife: Switzerland is the birthplace of modern mountaineering, and the Swiss Army Knife has a long history, and is famous in the world for its excellent quality and powerful function. At the same time, knives are an essential tool for outdoor sports.
ZIPPO lighter: lighter is an essential item for outdoor fire, the United States ZIPPO lighter is the world's most famous brand, has more than 60 years of history. Even non-smokers love to collect and become crafts with high aesthetic value.

Dressing Table

Dressing table, also called toilet table, a table used for the toilet. The term originally was applied in the 17th century to small tables with two or three drawers. It soon became common practice to conceal the fittings of the dressing table when they were not in use, and great ingenuity was exercised by 18th-century cabinetmakers to combine elaborate fittings with a handsome piece of furniture.
