Overview, architecture and design of intelligent guidance system based on NFC technology

1. Introduction

With the rapid development of the economy, people's lifestyles and consumption habits have become increasingly diverse. People often visit tourist attractions, shopping malls, or exhibition centers, which are usually located in large and popular areas. However, users frequently struggle to quickly identify popular spots, understand the location details, or navigate effectively to their destinations. The lack of comprehensive guidance information and limited communication channels significantly impact the overall experience of these places, thereby affecting user satisfaction and consumption behavior. As a result, improving service quality in commercial, exhibition, and tourism sectors, and making business activities more intelligent has become a critical goal.

2. System Overview

To address issues such as insufficient information, limited guidance methods, and poor consumer support in places like tourist attractions, shopping malls, and exhibition centers, this system aims to create an intelligent, personalized, and diverse itinerary guidance and planning service platform. It leverages Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to provide users with an intelligent platform for location-based, experiential, and consumer-oriented guidance. This solution is particularly suitable for crowded areas where there is a high demand for information dissemination, route guidance, and consumer assistance. The project utilizes NFC tags embedded in information nodes to spread and expand data, offer location services, and use trajectory and behavior matrices to deliver intelligent navigation and recommendations.

3. System Architecture

The system architecture is divided into three main components: the sensing layer, the cloud platform layer (which will be expanded in the future), and the application service layer. It integrates wireless self-organizing networks with the Internet to transmit various types of sensor or control data through the cloud platform. Ultimately, it offers intelligent guidance, value-added services, and development opportunities for crowded locations such as shopping malls, tourist attractions, and convention centers. The system structure is illustrated in Figure 1.

4. Technical Solutions

The system is composed of two major parts: hardware and software, including components such as information nodes, a node management subsystem, a guidance information management subsystem, and mobile applications. Key technical challenges include ensuring seamless integration between hardware and software, optimizing data processing for real-time navigation, and enhancing user interaction through intuitive interfaces. Additionally, the system must support scalability, security, and reliability to ensure smooth operation in high-traffic environments. These solutions aim to provide a more efficient and user-friendly experience for visitors in public spaces.
