New Insulating Resin Can Resist Temperature 400°C

Japan Asahi Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. and Mexi Electric Power Co., Ltd. have successfully developed heat-resistant insulating resins that can withstand high temperatures of 400°C.

The resin can be used for silicon carbide semiconductor device covering protection materials, especially for silicon carbide rectifiers, its output power can be up to 100 kVA, more than 8 times the material used in the past, as the insulating material in the semiconductor field to the world's leading level. Xuzhou Electrochemical Industry plans to open up markets outside the semiconductor industry in 2006 and looks forward to its wide application in various fields. The company's current target is 2 billion yen/year sales, and it is hoped that it will reach a sales scale of 10 billion yen per year in the future. (Sun Jun)
