Sony announced the AR game project Project Field! Landlord anytime, anywhere

索尼公布AR游戏项目Project Field!随时随地斗地主 AR游戏

From Skylander to Amiibo, "Life Toys" has always been a great way for video game companies to attract players. Sony has not participated in this field before. But on Wednesday, Sony announced a similar project, Project Field.

Sony has demonstrated a dedicated smart board that can bring card games to real life by pairing with mobile phones and tablets. This is similar to the game Hearthstone, but players can buy physical cards in the store.

When a player places a card on a smart board, the smart board can utilize a near-field communication (NFC)-like wireless technology for probing. The smart board then sends the exact location of the card back to the phone or tablet via a Bluetooth connection. After the card enters the game, the smart board can monitor the movement of the card, such as whether the player has placed the card in another location.

These cards are readable and writable, which means that changes in the state of the game can be saved. Depending on the game, players can also "upgrade" their characters, and the data can be saved in the card.

This is not a completely new concept. The Warring States Wars, Fleet Collection and other arcade games in Japan have combined collectible cards with video games. Nintendo's Amiibo card also integrates with NFC chips. The difference between Project Field is portability. If the price of this smart board is reasonable, players will have an arcade experience everywhere they have a tablet.
