Recently, Zhang Jun and other researchers in the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Zhengzhou University have made new progress in the experimental research on the unsaturated resin rotomolding process, which has provided a valuable reference for the related production of the rotomolding industry.

The study found that in the process of rotomolding with unsaturated resins, adding an appropriate amount of initiator (methyl ethyl ketone peroxide) and accelerator (cobalt naphthenate) can change the gel time of the reaction resin, and then change The wall thickness and uniformity of the molded product; adding an appropriate amount of SiO2 powder can change the initial viscosity of the reaction resin, and then change the final wall thickness of the product. Tests show that the gel rate of the reactive resin system has a great influence on the thickness uniformity of the product, and its initial viscosity has a great influence on the final thickness of the product.

In recent years, the R & D and production of liquid polymer rotomolding has gradually attracted the attention of the rotomolding industry. Compared with powder polymer rotomolding, rotomolding using liquid polymers as raw materials has the advantages of low operating temperature, good raw material reinforcement and modification effects, and a wide range of mold materials, but there are also some technical difficulties. For example, the distribution of raw materials on the inner wall of the mold is uneven and bubbles are easily generated on the surface of the product. The development of liquid polymer rotomolding technology is relatively slow, and further research and development and application are needed.
